the new scrolls internal "sdcard" will be mounted as /sdcard
your removable sdcard will be mounted as /sdcard/tflash
so if you understand me the backup will have saved to /sdcard not /sdcard/tflash

try and do a backup WITHOUT your sdcard in the new scroll, it should backup as normal...

ok got it to restore, done backup but as i thought doing same hangin on SO logo screen musta been sold a dud from china

It may take a few minutes to boot mind and make sure you have done a wipe data/factory reset from recovery
If you can, upload system.img boot.img and recovery.img to rapidshare and post the link here please, i will then make an update.zip for you to try... again

will need boot.img as well from back up, its strange that miscroll update works and nothing else does
