youtube app not working

this is what i did,

i removed the old youtube app using root explorer and installed Youtube 2.0 from this site

edit - removed youtube but it will not install the new on!?!?!?

I hate to bang on, but using Plane Mode Then Re-enable Wifi means you don't need to do all the APK removing.

Hopefully, some clever sod will make this a mod to always be in this state soon

when i try to install the new version of youtube - the installer says 'application not installed'.

Veng yea that method works fine but not having them at all reduces teh amount of space used on the tablet so you can install more junk!

@alex - how did you get youtube to run if you have done the phone relate apk's change???????

got youtube to work (with phone related apk mod) - with the apk from the link below

once i had removed all the old youtube files on the scroll.

(took me ages - but that's because I am still getting my head around android - but I did it)

Where did you find this apk? If this is a known issue then we should make sure we know where the fix came from

i made sure that i uninstalled all youtube apps before installing Youtube 2.0, it is a newer verison to the one that was originally on the device but works perfectly.

I guess the youtube in the market is 2.2 only then as that akp is basically the market version
