Adjust the sensitivity of the touch screen ?

Postby Detection » January 5th, 2011, 11:08 am

Is there a way to increase the sensitivity of the touch screen so I dont have to press it so hard that you see the LCD colours being crushed ?

Nope I don't think so, it a resistive touch screen and that's just how they are.

Yeah, it can be pretty slow, but android 2.1 doesn't help that 2.2 is much faster

Very odd "effect" I encountered.

I downloaded Opera 10 beta and can swear that I can swipe the web page around (zoomed in) with a much lighter touch than for other apps. If anyone else has Opera 10 can they have a look and see if it feels the same to them?

Hi Veng, I'll have a look later.

IMHO, the largest issue with the Scroll is the combination of the resistive touch screen plus OS unresponsiveness. When operating the screen, and it doesn't respond, you don't know whether is because you haven't pressed hard enough, or that it just hasn't responded yet. I found this took a bit of getting used to.

Hopefully 2.2 will improve this situation.

Could be a number of things: apps with lower memory/cpu usage leave more cycles for reading the touch input (Opera10 has a small footprint) or the touch input code has a higher refresh rate set by the app (Having only tested a couple of my apps for basic 3D implementation as yet not sure whether this is as effective as it is on the pc with a touchscreen input)

But yes I've noticed Opera10 has a more responsive touch input too.
