Data & synchronisation list is empty

I'm new to Scroll, new to tablets and new to Android, so sorry if this is seems silly.....

I have a new Scroll 7" capacitive running 2.3

I have added 2 Google accounts using "Accounts & sync settings", one that uses googlemail and one that uses a private email address. (I tried the latter on its own but it wanted me to add a gmail address to the account, which I don't want to.)
Both accounts are listed in "Accounts & sync settings and say "Sync is off". If I touch either I get a "Data & synchronisation" screen. I understand that there should be a list of things to sync but there isn't a list with either account. (I really want to sync the calendar that belongs to my non-gmail account.)

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

OK. I've searched around a lot but can't find anything that cures the problem, so a simple question:

Should the Scroll 7" capacitive be able to synchronise with a Google account?

OK: I emailed Storage Options support yesterday and got a reply today with a link to a firmware update that cured the problem.
