Thanks Mitre & blueeagle69 - Doh! (this is not going to well)

It must be the one line in the build.prop that needs changing as well, which I can not at the mo' as it causes a bootloop! - Damn and blast.

Unless I need to clear the dalvik cache too as I have only cleared the data from the market app - Also I did read something about it can take market up to 24hrs to catch up.

You'll get there in the end mate. We have faith in you :-)
If it wasn't for the fact that my Excel is due to go off for replacement :-(
I was Googling earlier though about build.prop and how to make a device appear as another to the market. And it showed 4 lines that needed to be changed?
Just can't bloody remember which four lines, lol.
I'm blaming Netflix and my PS3.

Thanks blueeagle69, Yep, getting there :) - I know what the lines are to edit - it's just the one that's the issue (must be a conflict with it elsewhere in the OS) the Excel is playing hard to get for some reason.

BTW I have been testing this with market version 2.3.2 - What market version do you and Mitre have?

Cheers

I'm using 3.4.4 of the Android Market.
I haven't tried any build.prop files yet as I'm about to do a factory reset on my Excel before I send it off for replacement. I am gonna be lost without it for a few days. I know I have my PC, but it just ain't the same :-(
If you haven't tried it btw, 3.4.4 is great. Supports in app purchases, that I have successfully tested with the superb Blood and Glory. And I have successfully purchased a paid app from the store too. (Chainfire Pro).

Ok, thanks blueeagle69 - I will try that later (been using it on my phone, it is good)

Update: I have been looking at the build.props of the Allwinner A10 Tablet MOMO9 and it seems that others have made changes to, but not to the:-

Code: Select all
ro.product.device=crane-evb

It does look like that bit can not be changed - however there is still plenty of other tweaks that can be done.

Hi,

Am I right is saying that the Excel GPU is a Mali 400MHz??? - Can anyone confirm this please. Thanks.

If so maybe it should have the ID of a Samsung GS 2 if that has the same GPU - Not sure what the GPU is in the Nexus S

The Galaxy S has a SGX540

Nexus S is SGX535

Different GPU's were fitted, the ones I gave are in the latest batches.

The only way I know to tell what is actually in it is by getting a proper data sheet from the manufacturers or by looking at the graphics drivers (remember, im no software expert :D ) and checking id's used in the drivers. Is there a file you can pull from the excel that contains the driver id strings etc?
