How to Install Clockworkmod on the Scroll Tablet - NOT Excel

To get the usb drives to recognise the Scroll for windows 32-bit.

I manually added these lines to android_winusb.inf file:

;Scroll
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_DEED
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_DEED&MI_01

Added these at the end of the section marked "[Google.NTx86]" for windows 32bit

(i guess you could do the same for 64 bit) at the end of the section marked "[Google.NTamd64]"

Note:

You might have to change the PID_ value. To find out the correct one,

right click on the ADB Device in Windows Device Manager, select Properties.

Then select the right-most tab, and select "Hardware IDs" from the drop down list.

usb drivers will now install - DONE

Sounds interesting, Charlie. Tried plugging in the tablet to see if you still get teh 'new hardware found' wiz popping up?

Looking at the files, there is something I don't understand. Why 'AMD64'? AMD64 is a processor, not an OS, and running a 64bit processor doesn't equate to running a 64bit OS, though the opposite would certainly be the case. Seems odd to have the 'AMD' in there, so I have to wonder why they did it and what it means. The NTx86 is logical, but the NTamd64 isn't, at least to my understanding, but they must have their reasons I suppose.

amd64 is a description of the chip architecture, like x86 (or i386) was for 32-bit architectures. AMD developed and released 64-bit chips before intel, and iirc, intel actually liscensed the AMD technology to use in their chips.

fancy trying the above fix? you can always remove teh driver if it wont work

Vista now pops up and says android composite ADB interface installed ...... blah blah

everytime i plug the scroll into the pc now (in debug mode)

sounds like it is! try the batch files if you want to. the first one just reboots the tablet into recovery mode so it cant do anything bad
