But it moans about no space left on device for the main file recovery.cpio.
...

recovery.cpio is about 6mb is size - it could be you have the data/ full

so you will need to run a command to remove something from data/app (that would be the best to do)

I will post back with the command line

EDIT - P.S. - what is the one of the largest apps you installed on the excel? - list any

to try to clear some space, if this is the issue do

Code: Select all
adb shell rm /data/app/com.adobe.flashplayer-1.apk

or (i think) if you are already in Shell, then just

Code: Select all
rm /data/app/com.adobe.flashplayer-1.apk

This will clear 4.89mb

@Mitre - please step in here if the above command(s) are not correct, thanks

you should be able to select any of the nand blocks zip it with 0 compression rename to update.zip
and stock recovery will put it where it needs to go it has to be named same as existing file so recovery will have to be named nandf

ps what file have you been trying to push
i am gonna read the thread again try to get whats been done so far

I think this is the way to go, I see what you are saying, can you guide blueeagle69 with this, as you seem to know more how to do that than me.

The story so far Mitre, is that blueeagle69 is stuck on the 'balloon imgae' screen after installing busybox from market. So I said that it would be best to get CWM5 on, and use your clean CWM5 backup.

The problem started when we could not adb push install-recovery.sh /data as it reported back as Read-only. It seems he has got past this now and been able to chmod 755 the install-recovery.sh but can not get recovery.cpio into data - as out of space.

Edit:- Mitre can you make that zip for blueeagle69 and up load it dropbox for him?

ah ok i get it now so you was just now trying to free up space in /data so you can push the cpio file to there
and got a file not found
edit i can make the zip but what img are we trying to get on boot.img i think is the best bet
i think maybe try to free up data a little first to see if we can push the cpio file
