It could cause an issue with stock recovery flashing an update.zip (as it checks things with the build.prop) - if that is the case the original build.prop would just be needed to be put back and have the correct chmod. then try the .zip again.

Rightly or wrongly, I just tried Nandb renamed to update.zip

Recovery came back with signature length doesn't match EOCD marker
Signature verification failed.

@blue

did you do this one??

ok, well use this file now

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18307166/be2/in ... ecovery.sh

do the same as before (you must chmod it too)

then try to push recovery.cpio to cache

Code: Select all
adb push recovery.cpio /cache/

then

Code: Select all
adb shell /data/install-recovery.sh

if this don't work, then Mitre is right and the partitions are borked and zip is the way

large coffee here please ;)

This time it worked, but I got the following
BusyBox v1.19.3-Stericson (2011-12-20 21:07:32 CST) multi-call binary.

Usage: mke2fs [-Fn] [-b BLK_SIZE] [-i INODE_RATIO] [-I INODE_SIZE] [-m RESERVED_
PERCENT] [-L LABEL] BLOCKDEV [KBYTES]

-b BLK_SIZE Block size, bytes
-F Force
-i RATIO Max number of files is filesystem_size / RATIO
-I BYTES Inode size (min 128)
-L LBL Volume label
-m PERCENT Percent of blocks to reserve for admin
-n Dry run

cpio: applet not found
rmdir failed for /cache/recovery, Directory not empty

ok it means the zip needs to be a signed zip that has to be done in the sdk i presume that ecxel used test keys to sign there stuff so would have to sign the zips the same with googles test keys did not think this would happen

go back to charlie for a review of his cpio method for now
