update
just put the whole folder into the clockworkmod/backup folder on the sd card
when you pushed CWM5 it should have made these folders on your removable TF card
so clean 2.3 has to go inside "backup"
then chosoe restore fom CWM and you will see the clean 2.3
good luck if you cant see the foders make them yourself

Can I copy these files from the Excel-2.3-clean folder now to my external sdcard now I have CWM5 working?
nandroid.md5
cache.ext4.tar
recovery.ext4.tar
boot.ext4.tar
data.ext4.tar
system.ext4.tar
(just put the whole floder into the foders i said)

Afternoon :)

I just popped my external_sd card into a card reader. There isn't a clockworkmod folder on there.
All my files, videos etc are there, but not this folder.
Does that matter?

Hi, bet you slept well last night,

I think Mitre means to create on the external sdcard a folder called clockworkmod - then in that folder create a folder called backup - and then in that folder put the folder (with it's contents) Excel-2.3-clean in there. Like so,

clockworkmod/backup/Excel-2.3-clean/ <here will be the the 6 files needed>

Hi Charlie.
I was OK when I eventually went to sleep.

I copied the folder to clockwordmod/backup (i created this).
But CWM5 doesn't list the .tar files.
I selected Choose zip from sdcard, navigated to that folder, but it won't list them.
Clearly I am missing a step.

@Mitre
@Charlie
:) You guys are simply the best.
I rebooted, it stayed on the Balloon screen for a while (I thought, bugger). Then I had the Android Logo. In seconds I was back to the homescreen.
The two of you have gone beyond the call of duty. Without your help, I would have been murdered by the wife.
A huge thank you, once-again.
I have lost all my game backups (Blood and Glory) but I don't care. And besides I shouldn't have deleted my Titanium backup files, when I had restored it all.
I may run a undelete program on the external card plugged into my PC and have a look.
But my tablet is working again, thanks to you.
