Charging Issue on Scroll Excel 7" Android 2.3

Just found 2 other threads on here which seem to be the same problem.

None of them really have an answer though, so maybe it could be a software related issue or maybe the port or charger are of quite low quality? The device itself seems very good quality, but I suppose the charger does look a tad 'cheap', so hopefully it's just the charger.

Im just trying a tomtom mains charger ( rated at 5v 1A) to see if it charges quicker than standard usb. Will report my findings.

Further to this, with the tomtom charger the charge level rises as normal even with wifi in use. With a normal 500mA usb connection the excel is only just powered and just about holds the battery charge. I might just continue using the usb charger as the connection seems more stable.

I charge my resistive scroll with a 2A usb mains charger but it does not charge the excel so excel must have a regulator on the usb port

Strange, mines charging fine, its gone up 5% in ten mins.

my charger is 2000mA you said yours was 1000mA it charges the scroll but not excel
it will charge with my kindle charger at 1000mA

Odd, perhaps it does have protection built in.

Well the universal charger with 10 attachments did not have the correct attachment to fit into the DC port of my Scroll

It does have a mini-USB adapter though so I can use it to charge in a wall outlet.

Still awaiting a reply from SO.

Just had a reply from SO and they have kindly offered to send me a new charger free of charge, which im very happy with (especially happy with if it works ).
