With regard to our conversation this morning I can confirm that Scroll can only pick up its IP address via DHCP.
Thanks for your interest in Storage Options.

I'm very disappointed in this information. It's a big letdown and tells us who their target is: morons with toys. Any advanced user will establish set IPs and while a router will certainly connect a LAN, a Linux box is a better firewall and gateway.
I'm sure this can be overcome. After all, it's Linux and we know we can upgrade that Linux. Just need someone who knows what to change to make the options available.
I replied to Mike:
Thanks for getting back to me Mike.
I have to say, this is a big letdown. Even the crappy Disgo 6000 lets you set an IP and a gateway. What you have done is limited your sales to users who do not establish set IPs and who trust their internet connections to a hardware router over a Linux firewall, the very OS you are writing for. That is simply illogical.
Can you please tell me: as this is simple to implement, can there be no fix in the near future? I'm eager to be a loyal customer, but this will hardly be fit for purpose if it can't make a simple network connection.
Thanks for your help,
Dale
