Right, so i purchased the Scroll Excel Tablet yesterday, what can i say, i was impressed
Had a little play and what not, i saw that the lip-sync issue was there, no big deal....

Anyway... I present to you a custom WORKING update.zip made by yours truley....

A little story...
I was coding the updater-script and accidently told it to wipe the recovery.... Big Oooops here...
Then silly me did a "factory reset" via the "Privacy" menu...
The device rebooted and then nothing.... I had basicly bricked it.
So, i used livesuit and proceded to fix what i broke...
Surprise Surprise the device booted.... I had a "Tablo"
Re-installed Clockwork Mod.... Everything works... So far, apart from the hard "Home" key... No big deal... I did this for you guys

I then proceded to test my custom update and.... Blow me down it worked!

I have yet to code the updater-script to flash the boot partition, this i do not want to do at present....

I will release, if you guys want it, the update.zip, but i hold absolutely NO responsibility if you brick your device

Wow fantastic
please can you give a step by step on what you did maybe on a diiferent thread so maybe we can learn from that and emulate it on other devices and save this thread for the excel

so you used livesuit to flash the Tablo firmware then installed clockworkmod5 then flashed my backup or youre backup

Flashed Tablo firmware via livesuit, installed clockword mod, i followed your guide, thanks for that, i did 2 backups before doing anything, then used my backup to convert to a flashable file, then recoded the updater-script to reflect the nand partitions on the device.

You were right when saying it uses ext4 and not yaffs2, that did throw me a bit. Obviously with out the Excel myself i couldnt test anything, so i bought it.

but are you saying you are now still in tablo as you did not have a backup before you bricked it

No problem, ive spent endless hours banging my head against the wall on this
I made a backup before i bricked it, i used the Tablo firmware to "Restore" the Tablet

The Rom is pure Storage options, stock.

Ill PM you the link.... make a backup, it will ERASE ALL DATA!!!!

If this flashes from the clockworkmod on an ics device job done we can go back and forth from GB to ICS

I wouldnt use it to flash between ICS and GB just yet, there is no kernel in the rom at the moment, just have a test with it for me, let me know, going to work on it some more tonight
