Hi
Where do I start...?
I have recently acquired a Scroll 8" resistive loaded with Android 2.3.3. As follows:
model: scroll 2 (SCR051951)
Android: 2.3.3
Kernel: 2.6.35.7
build: P82B-T0-S3-H02-1087
I have rooted via SuperOneClick and that part is fine.
Problem: I have no idea what firmware i have as for some reason it is missing from my 'Settings > About device'. All I can gather from going to the system updates section is that i have the latest version (though not sure what number this would be).
Despite not knowing my firmware, i took the chance and attempted to install Clockworkmod from Warpedflash's post (viewtopic.php?f=27&t=127). I have the drivers working ok and the device registers as 'Android ADB..'. I ran both batch files - the first rebooted my device as expected and the second did it's thing and then loaded Android. It seemed everything had worked as expected.
Main problem: I cannot get to the recovery/boot menu screen. I dont know why. When I power on while holding volume up button it just hangs on the white screen with the Scroll logo. So I don't actually know if I have CMW working or not?! And if it is installed OK I can't actually do anything with it! The device does boot into Android if I just power on so its not 'bricked'.
Major kudos and virtual rewards for anyone who can offer any help?
FYI, at first i thought this must be due to the "/system/etc/install-recovery.sh" file mentioned in Warpedflash's post but i looked to delete this via root explorer and the file isnt even there on my device.... could it be that I am trying to install wrong version of CMW perhaps?
sorry for long-winded post. Hope someone can offer advice.
Thanks
Craig
