Hi @justb - Not all anti virus programs will pick up all dangers... some will detect dangers that others miss and vice versa. All I can say is that my set up is not detecting anything.

In the end, we all have to take judgment about the safety of software we're downloading and using. Some of the software comes via so many other places that we can't be sure of the source and, I guess there is the capacity for nasties to find their way into it.

Something we can do to safeguard ourselves (against obvious nasties) is maintain a regular backup regime of our computers so that, if things go wrong, we've got a 'clean' backup to revert to. What's harder to guard against is the insidious malware that operates in the background... if that goes undetected we end up backing that up as well!

I'm using AVG. its reading it as a worm for Iexplorer.exe. It's the two exe files. As long as u guys are sure theres no worm...

Do you really want to take it down? Whilst you take every precaution to safeguard and virus check the software you're providing, as with everything we're doing here, doesn't the 'use it at your own risk' caveat apply?

If you stop developing software and making your amazing work available, there will be a lot of people on the forum who will be the poorer for that... 'publish and be damned'!

A bit late now. But if you hold the power button down for a few seconds, the Excel will power down.
Tested in ICS too
I had to do it with mine.
I was testing a new android.policy.jar and settings.apk to allow hiding of the status bar, and got into a bootloop
All fixed again now though.

Sometime you get false positives for stuff, especially with modding software .

Its defo a false positive mate, i dont use AVG, but if it was a worm/virus/trojan, and AVG was any good, it wouldnt of let you download it

I was advised by a mate of mine to get ESET NOD32, best £40 i spent, it scans EVERYTHING.

OK that was scary....just had to turn off AVG to make it work. Seems to have gone OK. had to install the USB driver twice and all good.

@blueeagle89 hold down power for 20 seconds DOH! i told so many people about this on GB threads its for if you accidently pull the usb chord whilst flashing a rom it will shutdown and reset i forgot all about it
what a K@#b it prob would have worked(will never know now) but least we know hot to shutdown via terminal now thanks to Excel saves a few presses of that darn button

The new English ICS is great, everything works great apart from the Market, sorry 'Play Shop' (who came up with that?!) doesn't show many apps. Is it possible to modify the build.prop file to show more apps? Eg google apps, facebook etc.
