but for now you should be able to just reload the .apks from your backups and they should work fine

Hello mate, you need to re do the build.prop and remove the "Performance Enhancements" at the bottom.

Those were test edits by myself, i may have forgot to mention, but they seemed to cause some glitches/stuttering in bbc iplayer.

Is anyone getting issues from the play shop, a lot of apps are coming up incompatible for me, just recently tried facebook and it says it isn't compatible, you can see from the picture my DHD and Scroll from when it was on GB comes up fine.

Can anyone explain the reason why the market app thinks the apps are incompatible? I say this because I have a game in the market myself but it is showing as incompatible. I know for a fact it works because I've loaded the apk directly onto the device and it works just fine. I also know it works on other tablets (Galaxy Tab and Nook Color) and these are able to download from the market. So from a personal point of view I wonder what I can do with my manifest or something that can help make it pass muster with the Google Play (ugh!) app.

Edit: just to add I can see the app from a Nexus S running ICS so its not a SDK version problem.

Pull the build.prop off the Nexus for us then mate

I used the Allwinner Mod app. You just have to remember to restart for the changes to take effect.

I set it to Samsung GT-I9000.

Using this I was able to see Asphalt 6 and install, before I couldn't.

Angry birds is showing as incompatible with a lot of devices now, they have done something to it in an update for some reason. I sideloaded and it runs fine (got a backup from my Galaxy S phone).

Re phone apps - for info tried a few things:
added ro.carrier=wifi-only to the build.prop which it seems from googling works on some devices to turn off the phone tools - but this doesn't seem to work on our ICS build
Also tried removing Phone.apk and TelephonyProvider.apk this did not seem to make much difference apart from when mobile was selected from settings it caused the settings app to error.
Reverted back to original ICS build and await developments.

I just switch on Airplane Mode, and re-enable WIFI.
