Netflix, Lovefilm or ???

Netflix & Lovefilm keep doing offers, I was wondering if anyone has experience of either or could suggest an alternative to on-demand films? (not Sky or Virgin - I am moving away from Sky & unfortunately don't have cable here, it stops 2 doors down, and they want a fortune to connect)

FreeSat, if think. - We can only get Satellite here, very poor signal for normal digital tv. TBH I would rather get all content on-demand via broadband.

I do feel i wast a lot of money on sky but i do like the sport
I pay for movies but rarely watch them will have to review.
BskyB's licence is up for renewal and if its felt the murdocjs arent seen fit to run a british tv station they wont get a new licence

Aye Mitre, I too have wasted loads on Sky, and some of their channels get bad sound dips these days, mainly the ones that are available in both HD & SD - I have experienced this a lot when viewing in SD (don't' have their HD box)

Anyone use Netflix or Lovefilm

I subscribed to Lovefilm for 12 months. They are a quality company with a huge selection of movies. Netflix appear to have very few movies. Go onto both sites and use the 'Browse' facility & all will be revealed.

Ok, thank you - I take it your in the UK too. Netflix seems to have loads of films but not so good for people in the UK.

With Lovefilm, have you had to pay anything other than the monthly charge for their content?

I live in sunny Dewsbury. Just received Blu-rays & DVD in post. Broadband is bad where I live, so did not stream movies.

I have tried Virgin cable and kicked them into touch because they got too greedy on costs.
I tried Sky but the same thing happened although I am still happy with their telephone and broadband.
I studdied the market for Freesat and settled on a 500Gig Humax PVR - best move I ever made.
Just the same as Sky+ but without the Sky chanels and their high costs.
A little note of warning though. You can buy satelite receivers from Maplins and even Aldis but these are NOT freesat receivers, they dont have the full electronic program guide.
Only true Freesat receivers are always branded as such.
Freesat is coming on in leaps and bounds and broadcast licences are up for review fairly soon which could lead to us seeing even more familiar chanels on the Freesat service.

Ok, thanks - I was going to get freesat Humax PVR if going down this route and just a non PVR Humax for other rooms. - Just the initial outlay is high (worth it in the end and better than paying sky for things I don't need), just need the funds first.
