PLEASE HELP! Scroll 8" 2.3 andriod

Postby HHHmcniven » March 5th, 2012, 12:32 pm

Hi Guys,

I have similar problems on my Scroll 8". i have the most update andriod version at moment andriod 2.3.3 . Though the WIFI has not dropped out yet , been on for the last hour ... when i first got it it dropped out all the time ( very annoying ) , so i just played games on it... now i have a second wind and want to try and get more use out of it ... though i have not heard any great reviews regarding it yet .... hmmmm

so what im looking to ask is , does anyone know the answers to these ?

Can BBC iplayer to used on the Scroll 8" ?

Can you mod your own firmware on it? ... if so whats the advantage of it ?

Can you install adobe Flash ?

is there any other apps that will let me view content like BBC iPlayer on my scroll ?

and why are certain apps on the market not there ? ( but i can get find then on my Phone ) is it because the scroll cant process it ? like iplayer and flash

thanks in advance if anyone has any ideas

Hi & welcome to the forum,

You will not get flash or iPlayer on your tablet as the CPU is an ARM11 v6 and is not capable of utilising flash as it was only written for ARM11 v7+

There are some work arounds to get flash on your tab, but the results would be poor and not worth it. (Google "flash for arm11v6" or "flash for armv6")

You might be better off getting the "Skyfire Web Browser 4.0" (free trial - then paid) and this will render flash on their server and send it to your tab in a way that will display flash content without having a flash enabled tab.

I have have good news . I just recently used the firmware update for miscroll tablet today. I noticed that it is more stable, when running or downloading apps. However i am still too scared to recalibrate, since the last time i tried do so. The screen locked me out the tablet, so the calibration is slightly off.
But i am happy that i got bbciplayer to play videos via my Skyfire browser and licence add on.
Note you have to purchase the licence from the Market and then side load it onto the sd card.
I watched the Voice, it did crash once. :)
