Great fast way to get APKs onto the scroll

Postby Detection » January 9th, 2011, 2:00 pm

Goto the market and install "Dropbox"

Download Dropbox for the PC from here

http://www.dropbox.com/

Install the PC version, set up an account (2Gb FREE Account), login

Run the Android version on the tablet, login into your account

Now everytime you want to copy a .APK file to the tablet, just drop it into the Dropbox folder on the PC, open Dropbox on the Scroll and it is instantly there ready to download and install.

Saves having to plug it into USB and mount the drive each time.

lol, I have used it on the PC before, but I reset my scroll lastnight, and decided to go on a mission to install as many apps as I can before the firmware kicks the market again, and saw dropbox, then I have just been playing with loads of IM .apks and was getting sick of mounting and unmounting the SDCARD - then remembered about dropbox lol

Much easier

You know you can fix the market by removing the phone apk files apparantly...
or if you want to try something for me check the build.prop folder and try the test version in there. and it will hopefully enable teh full market without changing the apk files

The tablet opens in a explorer window on my PC and I just copy files to it?

No, dropbox is a seperate program on the PC and the Scroll

Its just a folder on the PC, once you move things to it, goto dropbox on the scroll and it will open the folder on the scroll and the files you copied to dropbox on the PC will be there

Its like a online folder that is connected to your account and will have the same file contents on any device you use it with.

I use drop box as well for just this, also if put files in the public folder you can share them really quickly with others by posting the link to that file .
