Well I have to say mine is reset and back in the box now, ready to go back on Monday. I got it for the mrs mainly an to do a bit of surfing now and again, I just couldnt stand it and couldnt stand the amount the mrs complained about it 'not working' mainly lag, lag, more lag, lag, force close, lag, force close, lag oh yeah, lag also! I went and checked out a few newer tabs + older like the xoom and it seemed so smooth and fast in comparison, i think that was the key point that made me realise how slow and laggy the extreme was! so not quite decided what i am getting instead, but something will be replacing it most likely at the prices will be the xoom

Shame that you are returning it, but if it don't do what you need I can see the sense in returning it. Myself or one of the other devs might have found a fix for it, but since none of us have an Extreme it's unlikely to happen any time soon.

using opera mini makes browsing extremely fast. i think it's slow due to the automatic searching that. happens when you start typing

have to agree about opera. this is a complete revelation compared to the nightmare of the stock browser. I was really starting to get hacked off with the very slow speed- it was easier and less stressful to go on my htc desire hd to surf (which would defeat half the reason of buying this tablet). but opera is fantastic right now so suggest you try this before giving up

That really is a shame. If I could get a pad for my Mrs that would be a hell of a swap.

Really...Is Extreme so slow on the web!!! So how come there are lots of people who say its very fast?

I think you either have something wrong in your internet connection or maybe you have a faulty Extreme. Make sure your internet is not being used. Reset your router and try do a speedtest.net from different devices connected to your internet on WiFi and on ethernet. Compare results especially the ping value.

It's slow on complex sites because of the poor processor. Sites that were designed for desktop-class processors. Wireless speed doesn't seem to be an issue.

Like what sites?

And isn't it the same case with the iPad and other Android tablets?
