Extreme Fault [Poll]

Postby KLRichards » April 16th, 2012, 7:03 pm

I have had to return my Extreme with a screen fault, but I also noticed a buzz as mentioned by others, and have also been concerned over the time it takes to charge.

I was really happy with the Extreme, and hope that mine was just one of those machines and hope when my replacement arrives ( ...), it will be perfect.

I noticed others have had faults and had their Extreme replaced. Starting to worry that it may be a build quality thing.

So a quick straw poll, to try and see how many good Extremes there are out there versus the faulty ones being reported.

Extreme arrived today - tried to check battery charge after 3.5 hours and can't get any life out of it at all - looks like it might be dead. Will give it a few more hours before I give up.

I will be interested to see the poll results, I must say that the 1st gen Scroll I had in Dec' 2010 is still going strong, (yes it had dust speck under the screen) and the Excel I got a few months is still going strong. Maybe I have been lucky.

It is worrying that so many Extreme owners are having "quality issues" - The way I view it is that the Extreme Tablet was not rushed out as, it was announced on 29th Feb and only in stock at ebuyer on 2nd April. However the picture developing seems to be that the above average for a faulty/DOA electronic product here.

I don't have an extreme, so can not vote.

mine has the buzz, but unlike others, mine isn't when I have the keyboard open, it's just some random apps, like draw something.

I personally can live with it, it's really very quiet.

other than that all is good so far

Both the units I received had something stuck under the screen. Just gonna put up with it now.

Appreciate we only have 6 votes, which is a low group, but would have hoped someone would have had a fault free Extreme.... This is looking worrying...

Mine arrived last week on Thursday....returned on Friday! :-(

It had two faults; a dead touch area on the screen right between the start location of the slide-to-unlock circle and the unlock padlock icon (about an inch or so square area)...it worked to tap, but dropped anything you tried to drag across the area, and it also had a dust spec under the screen....for me, that's really annoying....once I noticed it, I saw it all the time!

Just waiting for my replacement....eBuyer received it back yesterday.

How quickly have other peoples replacements arrived?

Luckily I'm receiving my new Galaxy S2 tomorrow, so that'll keep me happy for a while but really can't wait to get my teeth into the tablet!
