Screen orientation & accelerometer not working!

Postby Topman » April 16th, 2012, 11:47 pm

Hi all,
I just received a new Scroll Extreme in a sealed box today. I absolutely love it but found that the screen orientation doesn't work at all out of the box and is stuck on landscape mode! I checked the Auto screen rotation is set to Auto. I also downloaded a racing game that uses the accelerometer and it doesn't work too! I also can't find any accelerometer calibration which was in v2.3! Everything else is working fine. Is it faulty or is there a solution?
Today i will be nice to all the people that i meet regardless of their attitude towards me!
No day is so bad it can't be fixed with a nap!

Most certainly faulty, as it should work perfectly from when you switch it on.

Oh dear!
Then its got to go back :(
I am trying to decide whether to ask for a replacement or get a refund :?
What are the alternatives to the Extreme in the tablet market?

There are some 10 inch tablets of identical spec emerging on Amazon and such, but you will probably find these are the exact same tablets with a different brand name. The only other alternative is to try and find an older tablet like the original Transformer, which you can score for around £250 new sometimes and around the £200 mark pre-owned (mint).
But all in all, the Extreme and it's various other cousins are the only choices right now at this price point.

A member on here has returned their Extreme and bought a xoom for £240 (wifi only model) it has gingerbread, however there seems to be an ICS update for it.
