There is a how-to on installing CWM here: http://scrolltabletforum.co.uk/site/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=1800
The second post details performing a backup of the NANDF partition. You will need to go though installing the Android SDK and USB drivers but there are other how-to's here that detail the process and its a pre-requisite for doing any sort of customisation.

Nand blocks a,b,c,e,f,g dumped here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17486207/excelnandabcefg.zip

If you need d & f I can put them on another site for you to download. NB nandf is my non-working CWM

Cheers

I'm confused, if you have the nand dumps as you say in your post above, do you need me to do this or not?

Well, if your firmware is the latest as described by the OP yes it would be helpful to compare between the two.

I can't compare with anything but it plays fine even after jumping to an hour in to a program, which I believe was an issue.

My nandf block is broken. So yes I still need that.

Right those images are un-readable

While your tablet is in "Recovery" mode you need to do...

Code: Select all
mount /sdcard
dd if=/dev/block/nandc of=/sdcard/nandc.img

That should give you a system image
Do that for nanda, nandb, nandc...

So it should look like so...

Code: Select all
~ # mount /sdcard
mount /sdcard
~ # dd if=/dev/block/nandd of=/sdcard/nandd.img
dd if=/dev/block/nandd of=/sdcard/nandd.img
524288+0 records in
524288+0 records out
268435456 bytes (256.0MB) copied, 29.934905 seconds, 8.6MB/s

I should then be able to read the .img file

If you could also do the above for nandf, hopefully, we can use that to push to ptbw's excel

Hi

I got a Scroll Excel on Friday with the same build number as the OP. CWM installed fine but I just get a blank screen when I try to boot into recovery, holding power and menu keys. It still boots fine normally, just no recovery.

I did a recovery image before I first tried to install CWM as per the instructions on the second post of the install clockworkmod5 thread. You're welcome to it if it will help, I can't remember if I had installed the AVD and SVK stuff at that point or not, if that makes a difference. It's an .img file if that helps.

Going to work now but if you want it I can send it tomorrow.
