If this newer build sorts out the infamous Excel lip-sync issue then their will be a lot of happy bunnies celebrating :)
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!

Nice SdCard ;) I think i may need the kernel also

You would need to follow this though, which is a bit bland...

http://elinux.org/Hack_A10_devices

Code: Select all
$ adb shell
# mkdir /sdcard/nanda
# mount -t vfat /dev/block/nanda /sdcard/nanda
# ls /sdcard/nanda
boot.axf
boot.ini
drv_de.drv
font24.sft
font32.sft
linux
os_show
script.bin
script0.bin
sprite
sprite.axf
magic.bin

# ls /sdcard/nanda/linux
bImage
linux.ini
params
paramsr
recovery.ini

Once you have done all the above, the kernel "bImage" should be saved on your internel sdcard, not external.

Also, how are you compressing your zips so much, thats crazy compression! lol

I got a Scroll Excel on Friday with the same build number as the OP. CWM installed fine but I just get a blank screen when I try to boot into recovery, holding power and menu keys. It still boots fine normally, just no recovery.

Going to work now but if you want it I can send it tomorrow.

Looks like you fell into the same bear trap as me. If you can send me the nandf dump that would be handy. I took a backup from my original tablet and assumed nothing had changed with this one. DOH!

From what I can tell the tablet is going into recovery its just you can't see what's should be on the screen. This could be because the backlight is at 0 brightness or the hardware has changed. adb still connects and its happy running the recovery program just no output.

We still have working tablets so that's something to be thankful for.

Cheers
Phil

as a thought, while in recovery, and adb, have you tried to issue the command

Code: Select all
adb shell
nandroid backup
