cheers suggsy.

although you mentioned the updated build in the other thread, because this thread has the build i last flashed i thought i would carry on now with this here.

you said about an updated build, just to confirm, you mean since i used the build at the beginning of this thread dont you?

would i just flash an update rather than a full wipe and install of another build? if so, where would i download the update?

just an update on the build so far. it looks great compared to the old GB software and makes the excel look less of a toy and more of a full tablet. to consider the price we paid for it, absolutely brilliant and thanks to you and people like you suggsy, we havent had to hope storage options would release ICS officially.
it seems fairly stable but i have had a few freezes for example with the keyboard and a couple of games just wont go past the first few seconds like Cordy which may just be a bit too much for the excel whatever version of android it is running. Overall, great.

thanks again mate

I updated the post last nite which uses a new base for ICS... Its far more stable, but has locked market and other broken things.

The update you need to flash if you want a fully working market, wifi location and some other general stuff.

You may have heard that i am working on a new update to fix the camera framerate issue, that has been accomplished but not released, i want blueeagle69 to have a look at it first.

Will release once he is satisfied.

Thanks.

cheers mate.

so although the update you will then release is being tested to hopefully confirm it will sort the camera, it will also have the most up to date base so more stable and also the unlocked market etc? sounds like that will be the dogs dangleys :D

again, sorry to sound dumb (cause i am a bit) you will post this as a zip to simply flash from within cwm without having to wipe the build i have just put on? if so that sounds great as i have spent today getting used to ICS and tailoring it how i like with my apps restored from titanium etc.

great work suggsy.

Hi there,

I was wondering if I could have a bit of help with an issue with the Flash.
I got my Scroll on Tuesday and was eager to start playing about with it. I have a HTC Desire rooted and running a Custom ROM, so am relatively familiar with the process.
I used the method here:

viewtopic.php?f=55&t=1800

to install CWM on my Tablet (couldn't use the one click method as I am using a Mac) and then proceeded with the Flash of the crane-evb_unsigned_041712_173849.zip (after having done a full backup of course).

After having backed up my tablet, I cleared data, wiped cache and dalvik cache, and proceeded with the install which completed successfully. After rebooting the tablet it was stuck on the boot screen for a total of 35 minutes, way over the normal 10 minutes I give for a device to boot after flashing.

I've restored my backup now, so that I at least have a working tablet, but has anybody any idea why the install may not have worked?

Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks, Billy

Hello Biily,

Simply flashing the CWM Zip over GB is not supported at he moment, You would need to flash the nand chip directly with a leaked program called "livesuit" the ICS Firmware is here... viewtopic.php?f=55&t=2155

If you do this you are totally wiping the device of GB and re-flashing the nand which completly re-partitions it and installs ICS.

Hope that helps. :)

Ah I hadn't realised that! Thanks so much for the quick reply :)

One question, if I flash ICS with that method, does it mean that I will be unable to simply re-flash my backup of the GB 2.3 ROM, would I have to return the tablet to stock first and then flash my backup over the top?

Thanks, Billy

Simple answer.... no lol

Long answer....

If you want to go back to stock after you flash ICS, you will then need to flash a GB firmware, install CWM, then flash your backup lol
