My Excel has just arrived the build number is
97F1-D1-H1-HD1-1291-20111128

Is that any use to you?
I have loaded the ADB drivers, you say above "open android-sdk-windows folder on pc" Where exactly is this folder on the pc?. Don't panick I'm not a complete moron. I am used to working with linux on satellite receivers but I have never had a pad before, once I get a couple of pointers I will soon pick it up, start me with a simple step by step and if you want these files I will get them for you, if this version is what you want.

I believe that is the old firmware, so you should be okay with CWM.

The firmware will probably not be required.

I suspect Suggsy didn't see the question....

adb lives in the platform-tools folder under the SDK. If you are using Linux it just works, in Windows to have to perform voodoo with USB drivers, a reference to which I can't find atm but search android_winusb.inf.
Still playing with:
Scroll Excel - 2.3 CWM5
ZTE Blade - MCR 12
Vega - Corvus ICS
Nokia N8

Thanks PTBW I only joined this forum because I saw your question and knew I had a new scroll arriving this week and thought I could help you. I have never had a tablet before, I am an electronics engineer and have been for over 30 years but not in computing, I am familure with linux because of my satellite systems and I pick up things very quickly.

I asked the question once in the post where I gave the build number above and got no answer, I put that down to perhaps he didn't see the question. so I specifically asked it again above and it's been ignored. Everyone has to start somewhere and an effort to help should be received with gratitude and a reciprocal attitude.

Having had no guidance whatsover from this forum in an attempt to help you I have since downloaded and installed the Sdk and platforms and figured out that I use the windows cmd screen to issue the commands to the tablet and I'm good to go. No use to you now though am I because my scroll is the old build. not my fault I was there ready to help.
I have now installed ICS 403 on my tablet and I have installed CWB with no problems at all, all working
goodbye.

I'm sorry, i did not see the question. I do work 9 hours a day myself on a sales counter. So access to a PC is sometimes limited.

@DrBob - Perhaps you need a bit more patience, your two questions are not even 24 hours old, we all contribute to this forum and do so in our free time when we can.
