Oh google maps wont install because it need to recognise your "phone" as having gps. this is what those permissions earlier that broke everything were meant to do :)

Pretty impressed that for someone without a scroll yet, you are still able to create updates and edit system files, with quite good results.

Gonna be a whole new ball game once you have it.

Detection the reason i didn't want you to do the removal of the apk files yourself was I needed testers for this lol :D
It looks like it does everything it should so I will make this more public at some point

I havent removed them, I just renamed them so thats no problem.

But Im watching this thread and seeing that the device needs restoring each time during the testing phase and after my fun with 2.2.1 and then my backup being broken, I dont fancy a wiped factory defaulted scroll again now I have it working nicely

Hi Detction

In most instances I didnt ned to Restore a previous version of the scroll operating system, ther were one or two instances were the update file did cause problems - early in the process when warpedflash was sorting out a few niggles.

the only reason I restore after each attempt is to make sure that that i am not updating over updates over updates i.e. the update must work and do eaxctly what is expected on a close to factory scroll as possible.

Warpedflash hasnt suggsted this, it my idea as sombody used to using the scientific method (Im a toxicologist), it wouldnt be very helpful updating over an update as you wouldnt be sure what has actually caused the effects.

Sorry if thats a bit rambly

Yea teh update over updates sould have been bad for testing :)
This is more or less stable now so it should work fine...
Also it will fix your youtube if you broke it when the 3 apk files were deleted

Ah ok thanks that makes sense yea, sorry I was just reading "New update" >>>> Restoring "New Update" >>> Restoring.... lol

Come on then, give me a link to the latest and greatest lol

Do I rename these 3 files again, but in reverse order, to get them working again ?
