Tattyhead64 and col33 I haven't noticed anything like you've described but I've changed the wifi settings for "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" to Always not had any issues, its under the Advanced options in the wifi setting (top right)

i found that the Excel running ICS is so fast to find and latch on to wifi that i did not need to set this to "keep wifi-on "as i did when on GB so i am surprsid that the extreme is having these problems as its the same hardware with a 9.7 screen

Got mine last night, well impressed. Never wanted an ipad, was holding out for a reasonably priced andriod tablet, and this is it. Battery life is better than advertised. I've installed Opera for browsing which handles the bbc website and videos really well.
Would recommend it to anyone, and have. 2 people I have shown it to this morning have already ordered one.

cheers

I'm not sure if its the Wifi or Browser settings. For example, last night I was keeping tabs on the football scores. Tablet went to sleep and about 30 minutes later I woke it up and I refreshed the browser. It hangs for about a minute and then returns website not reachable. Wifi signal looks good, I switch to Opera and that just hangs.

Previously I have turned off the wifi, reconnected and then the browsers work fine or just re-boot. Last night I used the task app to shutdown all apps, selected the browser and from favourits selected BBC web site and it went straight in. This process worked the 3 times I tried it, but don't know why it just hangs when I wake it up.

I'll check my wifi settings tonight to see what I have set.

Hi DaBOOm & Col33

Having sent my tablet back because of the wi-fi dropping out, it was returned to me a couple of days later saying they couldn't find a fault. I telephoned the tech guy back and explained that even though they said they couldn't find a fault at the work shop it was still happening at home. He advised me that the problem could be the frequency of my hub, I'm on a BT Hub 3. My wi-fi stays on until I turn it off or put it on charge overnight. I haven't changed the fequency of my hub yet. Took it away with me for the weekend, worked perfectly for on hotels wi-fi, no problems, so looks like it could be theBt Hub3.

Hi TattyHead64

I have an old TalkTalk router which works fine with all my other Wifi gadgets so not too keen to play around with it. Be interested to know if changing your hub works for you though.

I have a Virgin Media Superhub and its great for the Extreme. I did a speedtest and got 28Mbps, which I am very impressed with over wireless. I get around 3MBps when downloading which is more than enough.

Hi col33,
I to am reluctant to change the settings of my router has this would probably mean having to reset everything else that's contcted to it, at the moment it's a little bit of an inconvience, when it really starts get on my nerves I'll do something about it.
