Hi Piers,

I've only had the extreme since Friday and from the other post you know I am very very new to this. Flash didn't work for me on the stock browser (videos on BBC Football website), also didn't work on Opera either (had this issue on my Desire and one day it just worked). I did download ICS Browser+ from the play store last night and flash worked first time without be doing anything to it.

The only other things I tired wsa to change it from Andriod to Desktop mode. I've never tried Xoom mode.

Thank you for the reply Whistler, the problem I have is that Flash 11.1 destroys my tablet - makes it totally unusable. If I install it or upgrade then I have to do a factory reset. I have just completed reset no. 16 since getting the tablet a few days a go.

Piers, although I get problems (seems to be part of the course with the Extreme) I don't get anywhere near the level of problems you seem to have.

I checked the version of Flash I have running and I have Flash 11.1 (act ver. 11.1.115.8), so I suspect unless you are on a different patch level, it is not Flash 11.1 causing your problems, unless it is clashing with some other software you have installed.

Hope you get it resolved, as I don't think the Extreme is a POS (as you put it). It is exactly what it is. A cheap Android Tab, with all the issues a cheap chinese import brings.

For me, it is a useful piece of kit, that allows me to surf (most times), send and read email (most of the time) and play the odd game, without spending anymore time in front of a PC. Also allows me to sit with the wife when she is watching some rubbish on the TV without being bombarded by drivel ;)

But it does sound like yours should be returned.

Regards

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

I have searched high and low for the cause of the problem, after performing a factory rests, where I only updated Flash and installed nothing else, I have come to the conclusion that 11.1 is the cause > it makes no sense to me either but with plain 11.0 the tablet is the total opposite of a POS - it's one of the most stable devices I have ever used!

It's been running now without a crash for a couple of days. It's still fast, responsive and a pleasure to use. I would consider sending it back but I find Storage Options to be ... not the most helpful company. Obviously everyone has different experience but that's mine.

Carried on testing it today - took it out to a business meeting, connected using HDMI to show a video and played some games - perfect and not one crash. This confirms for me that 11.1 is the issue.

Strange that 11.1 doesn't give all of us issues...

I know, it's really odd but I'm not going to risk installing it again as everytime I have done so it becomes unusable.

Just checked again and I actually have Flash 11.1 installed, however the update I think it for 11.2 - either way the current version works so I don't see a need to update.

Ah... 11.2, that's making more sense. Not why, I'm afraid to say, but the reason why the rest of us hvent expereinced this.

Thanks for trailing the bleeding edge there Piers, I will. make a note not. to upgrade to 11.2.
