Just found out that there's an online IDE called cloud9 which you can do web development on and there is actually an android app called C4Droid that you can program and compile C on, pretty cool so remote desktop might not even matter! :L The only concern I really have left is the single core CPU :/

That CPU is on par with say an AMD Sempron CPU its a very powerful chip for what it is, especially overclocked to 1.2ghz.

For programming you don't need a powerful CPU as i assume all you will be doing is writing code and debugging.

You can use a wireless mouse and keyboard and the battery will last you well over 5 hours on one charge if you dim the screen down.

Im not trying to promote the product. It is a good tablet for the price though, even better if you can hold on until the price decreases even further.. I think you can pick one up for 159 pounds now...

It's a shame they didn't put the price up just a little and include a dual core one, seeing as everything else on the tablet seems to be pretty good spec. Coding will be at a minimum it just be good to know that I can do it if I find myself needing too for an hour or so. Even my phone has a dual core CPU! Have the on-line video streaming issues been sorted yet? I've seen some people on here say there is no lag now and others still saying there are? :S oh really, where would that be from? Also with ebuyer I think I've seen people mention if you don't feel it's up to standard before 7 days is up you can send it back for a refund? Is this correct?

Distance selling regulations would apply there with Ebuyer, so yes.

Depends on what firmware they may have been talking about, im developing ICS 4.0.4 and there is literaly no lag at all, and videos stream fine. With ICS 4.0.3 which is what the Extreme is running, you may fined that the browser is really laggy some times causing issues with streaming... but that is a firmware issue again.

This may also be the case say with an Asus Eee Pad Transformer say but i dont know because i dont have one.

so I could really just buy one see if I like it, if I don't (there'd have to be a reason to put me off) so I could send it back easily using that reasoning within 7 days. Would something like that be easy to install? As I'd want something that just works, not that I need to keep tinkering with to keep it going :P

I have a mate with the transformer, no lag on anything :/

Of course, you have every right to do so.

Well its still in the development stage, and will be for some time. I can only work on it at nights.

My work colleague has a transformer and he said that it has no lag either, but i forgot to ask what software it was running.
Then again the software may have been fully optimised patched over and over making it better and better with every update.

If i can get this 4.0.4 fixed up how i want it, it will be the shizz and compared to the Extreme stock firmware it is soo much faster already.

yeah bit annoying knowing that Storage options will probably never release upgrades. Having the galaxy S2 I know there's going to be countless upgrades even after Samsung stop providing them but with something like this the fan base is so low there's not many people developing for it, which is a real shame :( Will everything that currently runs be working on the 4.0.4 version plus extra things that currently don't? (I.e nothing will be lost?).

You actually get more features with the 4.0.4 ROM such as Google Play working out the box as well as other services and features which were removed from the stock version. The biggest improvement is underclocking the CPU. The Cortex A8 is simply not designed to run at 1.2Ghz all the time, it makes it laggy and unstable, however running it at 1Ghz improves performance considerably.

I thought it's under clocked to 1Ghz out of the box. So is the main problem if you just try and have too much running at any one time? for example would it still be fine for me to have double twist open to be playing my music in the background while I'm playing a game at the same time? Or would that be too much at once?

Have you found anything that you hoped would work perfect that just hasn't, due to either lag or incompatibilit? Or does everything work as you'd have thought it would on a android tablet.
