Awesome work suggsy - appreciate the effort u are putting in so we can all benefit.

Is there an easy way, or an app, to get the long press actions working on the volume keys? I have a couple of apps where the soft menu keys disappear so there is no way to bring up the menu anymore.

Well I've updated to 0.71

It is nice and smooth. No errors so far. Doing a few benchies to stress the system.
It is very stable indeed.

Nice work suggsy89

Stresstest crashed after 30 mins on the new ROM - still very usable though and a billion times better than the stock ROM

Hi Piers,

My Scroll Extreme is rock stable default1008/60

I let it run the Stability Test you used and it has been running for over 3 hours ? Do you think this could just be differences between each tablet. Have you overclocked it ?

I would like to get to grips with the kernel on this tablet. You know CPU voltage etc. I have been playing with the No-frills CPU Control. You can set CPU speed and I/O scheduler.

@suggsy89 very good work.

+1 to rename to RC1

Hi Mick,

I think suggsy was going to change the govenor on this build, if he did that seems to be the issue. So far b4 is the only stable one for me.

On this build I find that browsing is back to laggy, iPlayer plays for a few seconds and StabilityTest on normal mode lasts for 2 minutes and on root mode lasts for 30ish.

-1 for RC :P

I don't have this installed at the moment but can anyone tell me which baseband it's using?

1.1 is the baseband if your suggesting there is a better build out there other than this let me know.

If your still facing problems with this rom, its probably due to memory leaks, and is an issue with ICS itself. I read up on it online last night.

I really don't see any problems with performance compared to 0.4 but if your happy with that stick to it lol I'm sure many people here agree its better than the stock firmware :-)

I will be using 0.7.1 as my daily rom for a while just to see if there are any major issues if not I will push it to RC.

I feel that the kernel is somewhat to blame here for the battery drain but I'm not working with source code so cannot make any kernel changes.

I wish I had another PC just for Linux that I could use just for developing but I'm not a rich man and time is precious.

Just don't expect too much.

I'm sure there is probably an even better rom out there that we could use... time will tell :-)

Thanks

I have tested a ROM with baseband 1.2 and some other bits, thought it might be a better base than your current ROM?

The ROM im using at hte moment runs at 1.2Ghz with no problems. So far I have run StabilityTest and StabilityTest (root) tests for 2+ hours each with no crashes or hangs.

Here is the one I am using: http://www.mediafire.com/?nz4zu0ndpaihosj
And the forum thread for it: http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/31501-r ... 907cs9000/

So far it works very nicely and having a 1.2Ghz STABLE CPU seems to make a difference. I guess the bb1.2 fixes a few of the issues?

edit: battery after 4.5 hours use with StabilityTest + WIFI shows 65% remaining.

suggsy89 - this is a great ROM. I flashed it to replace the stock rom and it's like night and day. I bought the Extreme as a gift for my wife (she's been surfing on her phone a lot and I wanted to ease the eyestrain) but she rejected it within hours due to the force closes and constant wifi drops. Now, with your rom update, I fear I will never be allowed to fiddle with the tablet again!

Cheers mate. Let me know if you want me to try anything in particular. Google Talk video chat worked fine yesterday, so did the back camera.
