How to get CWM on your Extreme (Formally-I'm giving up)

No I'm failing at the first hurdle....

My PC will not load the USB drivers. It doesnt recognise them...

windows really dont like andriod
when you plug the tablet into the pc can you see the sd card

No... It loads USB drivers, but loads USB Device Android, says it cant find driver. Tried updating it by pointing to the USB folder downloaded from Peirs link (think Suggsys) but it says driver not found.

Have removed Android and tried again. But can see anything for the tablet...

dont think there is any drivers in the folder that holds the bat file with the script for cwm

you may have to download pdanet to your pc as that has android drivers i did this for 1 device and it worked

did you install the android SDK(adb) as that has drivers but takes ages

Where do I get the Android SDK from..

Doh... found that from Suggsy's link.

Was clicking the first link which took me to the ADB user pages... 2nd link got the SDK download... sorry.

Only a inf file in the zipped folder.... Thats not the USB driver .... is it ?

Id kicked off the SDK install before hand, it is doing some installs, but I haven a clue what it is doing it or why I need it, or the HELL what I'll do with it...

This is just too difficult, and I have this horrible feeling I'm going to brick the tablet... Instinct is telling me to stop now...

dont worry if you brick the tablet it just means you will have to flash the firmware (of your choice)using livesuite
which is where you want to be anyway
