Good RSS apps?

Postby Johnny » May 21st, 2012, 10:08 pm

I love my RSS apps and have reeder on my iPhone. But I am yet to find anything as good for my Extreme. I am using gReader at the moment and it's ok but nothing to shout about.

Anybody know any good alternatives? I don't mind paying for a really good app. It must sync with google reader though.

Not sure myself, only use them rarely on the PC - I will see if I can find a good RSS app for Android.

P.S. I really like you avatar, nice one :)

Thanks Charlie ;)

They are really useful if like me you are addicted to keeping up to date on all the latest gadget news. I just sub to my favourite sites RSS. Makes it much quicker to scan through articles plus as a bonus there are no adverts.

I should use RSS more for feeds for myself - I always add them for users of websites I have built.

Cheers :D - Not many people remember that game - even tho' it was and still is a classic (ok seems lame compared to modern games) but it was very good for its time. I remember testing out my new SoundBlaster card with it and running it from a 2x speed CD drive that cost £150 - Mad to think a slow CD drive was so much, when now a far better (DVD etc) one can be got for £10 - That's why I love technology, sometimes don't like it either (at rare times) - but that's the fun roller-coast for me.

Lol yeah i remember my first CDROM drive. Got it with 7th Guest. I can't remember how much I paid but it was expensive. I think it was a Panasonic?

I had a gravis ultrasound sound card, do you remember those? Not sure what became of that company.

So you are using gReader at the mo' the only ones I could suggest are these (not tried either) NewsRob & RssDemon but they both seem popular apps after gReader.

Have you tried http://code.google.com/p/sparserss/ - simple and open-source ?

You can import OPMLs from your desktop PC if you have a load of feeds you watch on there, otherwise a bit fiddly adding the feeds.

Thanks Charlie - I will have a look at those.

@BobC - thanks but I need something that syncs with Google Reader so it keeps a sync of what I have read between my devices.
