Ok, this may be a case of the blind leading the blind, as I'm no way an Android expert.

But I suspect you are having the same issue I had yesterday, when I couldnt restore...

If that is the case, suggest you....

1. Boot the tab into CWM
2. From the main menu in CWM, select "mounts and storage"
3. From that menu select "mount /sd-ext"m, as the external SD card would have been unmounted when you removed it to copy files.
4. After this has been mounted, go back to the main menu, and "install zip from sdcard" - if that is what you wanted to do.
5. After this has done its thing, select "reboot system now"

Hopefully it will then reboot ... Does take a while to boot past the Android screen when you have rebuilt, on the first boot only. Apparantly the system files are configuring for the first boot. Should be quicker after that...

Hope this helps...

Regards

Kevin

Thanks Kevin, however I get the same error for that
Error mounting /sd-ext!

i'm thinking is it a permissions thing but i have run the fix permissions option and that has had no effect

Did you do a format/wipe (cant remember exactly what its called) in CWM before trying to install the update?

I did so and didn't have any issues - I updated via the internal SD. I did get that error when I picked SD card by mistake (there wasnt an SD card in).

Ah, I'm sorry I'm not sure then.

I asumme that your SD card wasn't reformatted. if it was it could be that it is no longer readable by your extreme.

does your extreme still boot into stock 4.0.3. if it does I suggest you ensure the card is visible thrug the extreme. if that is all OK, then try again.

any expert Droid guys here can help.

I have reformatted it from the CWM option however it's still not playing dice. I have formatted it and then just did a factory reset and once booted up normally both the internal SD card and external SD card can be seen.
Will look again with fresh eyes tomorrow

Still having issues, is there a livesuite image that I could attempt to flash on my Extreme? Might as well give that a try

I'm hoping for the same Livesuite image, fingers crossed.

Can't get any USB drivers to work with CWM!

If all of the methods have failed then installing PDAnet should work. http://www.junefabrics.com/android/
