i have just found and read a different post that says using the stock browser with the user agent turned to honeycomb xoom helped... i have just tried this and yes it does. ive got past the point where it has been freezing all this time... ill need to do some more testing but it appears we may be moving forward...

not sure when the next updated beta will be out but it may be worth seing if the browser can use the honeycomb setting by default...

thanks

Wow... lets not throw the baby out with the bath water here....

I used Xoom conf on the Stock ROM, thinking it would cure all evils, but made things worse. Not all of us are interested in using our tablets to watch Iplayer(s). When I used Xoom I could NOT access the BBC web site, as it insisted that it displayed the cr@p BBC MOBILE Web site, so please, lets not enforce a change on all of us to use stupid WAP type web pages just because some want to watch Iplayer(s)....

My thoughts and opinion. The decision on whether it is incorporated or not though is all Suggsy's. Its his build after all.

Regards

Kevin

how strong is WiFi signal with this firmware? I've read problems with the stock one and people have found it hard to get a decent signal where another device would work perfectly. Also problems with waking from sleep and the WiFi taking a while to reconnect?

ah okay then, it's just I've seen a few reviews on ebuyer of people complaining about signal. I can see that being annoying mind, When I pick up a tablet I expect to just get straight onto using it, say I wake it up during a tv break just to have a quick browse online that's not much good if it's going to take a couple minutes to stabilise and connect :P mind maybe that's just an excel problem and not an extreme as you've said you do not own one.

As long as I have a copy of the original firmware so I can revert back to that if anything goes wrong I'm happy :P

I think it may be down to peoples routers and interfance from other wifi channels near your location, as I only get a wifi issue once in a blue moon on my Excel stock GB and even then it only takes <15 sec's to reconnect.

Phew upgraded at last.

Piers suggestion to use PDAnet sorted my communication problems.

Thanks to Suggsy for a great working system so far.

Google Play will now let me download apps I couldn't before.

Thanks to everybody involved.

Barry. ;)
