hi cb95amc

thanks for that.. ill have a look into that now and see if it will help... bit of a pain getting everything back to normal again, to many work related apps should just use it for me and wouldn't have half the issues :)

thanks again

I've not tried the backup of apps etc. Is there anypoint if you don't format anything? I'm sure someone where said that you don't need to do a format?

I personally do format and don't bother backing anything up so I haven't setup the tablet with Apex/Simple Text/Clocks/etc., etc. until Suggsy has finished perfecting his rom. Then I will sit down and play!

Hi suggsy

Not actually a bug as such seems it was there in beta 8

Turns out it is to do with the fact I have exchange email setup and it has a security policy so if I try to change the display settings it crashes out.
Just thought I would update you :-)

Thanks

if i try to open settings and then display it crashes out saying it has stopped.

This happens to me too, using RC1. I am running the Nova Launcher, not sure if that has any bearing.

I can confirm that a fresh install of RC1 with only Titanium Backup I have no issues with this crashing/force closing. Able to change all the display settings with no issue.

I will try it with Apex Launcher in a bit.

EDIT: Apex Launcher is running sweet as.

Clearly a man with lots of patience, I admire that sort of wisdom. However, with Titanium backup you do know that you can definitely get all your apps back again (once you have reinstalled Titanium backup following your format of course) This is a nice reassurance in case Google lose your licened download information in which case you would need to buy your paid for apps twice.
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!

Unless you use exchange of course then it don't back it up and you have to reconfigure it, not that its hard

Without having exchange setup settings display works fine. As soon as exchange is added this fails, I'm pretty sure this is an exchange policy as you haveti setup a pin / password to get into the tablet

I've not experienced it with anything else

Titanium users - how do you backup titanium pro so that you don't need to download it again before you restore, I created an update.zip but this only restored the free version. I had to restore the system data and the reboot a few times before the pro version kicked back in. I must have missed something

I've upgraded to the RC1 ROM.

Antutu gives 2985 CPU 801 GPU 1225

Quadrant gives 1571 CPU MEM 1572

Both down on 0.7.1

Everything seems to be working fine apart from videos from some sources such as Iplayer (starts fine gets bad within a minute).

Flash doesn't work on Scrabble in Facebook it did in 0.7.1 but it is cranky at the best of times. :P

Hope that's useful.

Barry.

First post, have been lurking since getting an Extreme two weeks ago. Have tried 0.8 and now using RC1 which is excellent - much better than 4.0.3. Was wary of the reported battery life issues but getting around 8 hours of light use between charges which is fine.

Many thanks indeed for doing this suggsy, it makes the Extreme a much more usable product and a real bargain.

Regarding the confusion about CM9 in this thread, Mod Edit perhaps a mod could amend the thread title? As it is anyone could be forgiven for thinking the topic is any Android 4.0.4 firmware for the Extreme Done. CM9 thread posts are all now here: viewtopic.php?f=57&t=2653
