Google Play Store not working on Elite :(

Hey. Installed the apk and when i tried to install a game like angry birds it just closes down the play store. have tried through the browser also. Another reason now to regret my Elite purchase

Anyone figured out a way to make it work?

Am I right in thinking that com.android.vending.apk needs to live in the same place as googleservicesframework.apk
in /system/app/ ?

To compound matters SlideMe won't seem to work, after the app opens I keep getting "An error occurred" message, and I had an Extreme, on which Google Play did work, with a fault and Storage Options under warranty replaced with the Elite!

Any ideas on getting either Google Play or SlideMe working appreciated. Tried downloading an .apk for Google Play and can get into the store through the app but then won't download and/or get a message that it has stopped working.

New to Android OS so simple instructions appreciated!

I doubt they will offer any help with the Play store problem as they dont support Google play.

Well THAT is reall useful. Not.

So how do you get apps from Google onto the thing?

This is the trouble with non google approved products, you cant expect to get support from them on it not working when they specifically say that google play is not included or supported. They are a lot cheaper though.

I am sure somebody on these forums can help though - Suggsy is working on a custom ROM I believe - I would have thought this would allow the Play store to work.

Try a factory reset... Ive come across this myself, a reset fixed it.

I tried it Suggsy, did not work still. The play store just crashes. Got my RMA number from scan so gonna send it off tomorrow and ordered an Extreme from ebuyer (comes with a free case) which should come tomorrow. It was a risk getting an Elite...a risk that didnt pay off...
