Google Play Store not working on Elite :(

Try a factory reset... Ive come across this myself, a reset fixed it.

I tried it Suggsy, did not work still. The play store just crashes. Got my RMA number from scan so gonna send it off tomorrow and ordered an Extreme from ebuyer (comes with a free case) which should come tomorrow. It was a risk getting an Elite...a risk that didnt pay off...

I took the risk getting an Elite but I was never going to keep the stock ROM on it anyway. Stock ROMs always suck bad whether they are on a phone or tablet.

I'm running ICS on a phone that LG gave up on at Android 2.1.

Could someone with a scroll extreme that works with google play post a copy of /system/build.prop ?

You can copy it by installing esfile explorer and setting the options to allow access to system folders

I have Google play working on the elite. Moved vending.apk to /system/app cleared caches and re booted.
Loaded play and imediately got a server error.
Installed play again and for some reason it worked.

Iplayer is unsupported. Why are the bbc such cnuts? Remember the realplayer feeds they ditched?

Thanks so much for posting this fix! I've been banging my head for a few days with this, downloading allsorts of weird .img files. I can't believe it was so bloody simple in the end! Doh!

I've got the iplayer app from the playstore... it just opens the default browser but plays fine?

So following what I suggested above, you managed to get Play working? What did you use to copy the file, or did you use the shell?

I used ES File Explorer. I'd already got it to the point where I got "The playstore has stopped" messages but after moving it, clearing the cache and a reboot, it worked straight away when I next tried to launch it.

Did you set the root access options on ES file explorer? I think part of the issue is read write issues and using play as root.
If this was ten years ago, I would know why. Unfortunately I've slept since I last had much to do with *nix stuff.

I did set them so that I could copy to the folder.
Another thing I did was change the model number in build.prop I dunno if that helped or not.

Whatever did, it works!

Sorry for sounding like a noob (i am one!) but how do i go about copying this file across, if you could explain it in laments terms id appreciate it!
