I have taken the plunge and flashed 4.0.4 onto my scroll extreme.

Both suggsy's RC1 and CM9 work well but I have decided to stick with RC1. This is because RC1 is more responsive in some situations.

A simple test is to load tablet mahjong from the play store. When clicking on a tile using the stock ROM and CM9 there is a 1second delay between touching the tile and it being selected. With RC1there is no such delay.

Thank you suggsy for a job well done.

I've just downloaded and tried Mahjong it on CM9, it works fine, no delay at all...

Edit:

I tested 'Mahjong', not 'Tablet Mahjong', I didn't notice the 'tablet' in sygin's post.

I have since tested Tablet Mahjong... I agree, there is a bit of a delay on CM9.

I couldn't get the Turtle pattern to work at all on Suggsys rom... no delay on the patterns that worked though. :)

Both are great roms, much better than stock :)

I just wanted to thank suggsy89 for all of his work with this build, without him my Extreme would be back with Storage Options and my £165 would be back in my account. I am sure many others feel the same.

Cheers mate.
Cheers,

Piers

Agree, many thanks suggsy89! your advice in this forum has helped me get the stock software backed up, clockworkmod recovery setup, and your fantastic ROM onto my (sons!) device. Your support is much appreciated. :D :D :D

I finally managed to gather enough courage and installed CWM. Works a treat! As everyone is raving about the 4.04 port, I wanted to install it on my scroll extreme. The problem is that the file is no longer availabe from the SugarSync link listed at the top of the thread. Is there a mirror anywhere, or can some please upload it somewhere? Many thanks!

Suggsy, good work on the 4.0.4 update. I'm very much a novice when it comes to things like this but with the help of this forum I have done the CWM install and updated with your RC1 update which is running with the Dolphin Browser and seems to be very stable.

There are two issues I'm experiencing which i wondered whether you were aware of and may be able to offer your asisstance with? Both are more inconveniences than anything thats going to make me want to restore back to 4.0.3:

- Firstly, I cannot open the Display option on Settings? My tablet always closes settings when I choose this option now?
- Secondly, when I purchased the tablet from Ebuyer it came with a free wallet and mini usb keyboard which was working perfectly, however since applying the new usb drivers, installing CWM and updating to RC1 the keyboard no longer works? It seems to have power as I can see the indicator lights come on when I use the caps lock and num lock but the keys do not function?

Any assistance or advice from anyone on both or either of the above would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
