Hi madmatt30,

Thanks for the detailed answer and it eases the nerves somewhat lol, I don't mind the issue of re-installing some apps but it the documents that i've got saved from apps that concerned me a bit but in truth they aren't a life or death thing just convienient to have :)

Anyway the tablet is on charge and i shall give it a go just wiping the caches you mentioned and see how that goes.

Cheers again,

documents should be safe anyway, there is no need to do a factory reset,a full sysytem format in cwm is recommended but not absolutely necessary,if in doubt just move the documents to an external sd card if you have one
as said I dont think anything is affected unless its in the actual system folder itself

Give the latest version with the new kernel a go, it's impressive.

I'm runing the new kernel on mine now, have found it unstable at the stock 1200mhz CPU setting though.
lowered it to 1104mhz and everything seems good now, benchmarks at 1104 are very similar to the old kernel at 1200 MHz so it must be better optimized.shame it doesn't want to run properly at the higher clock speed but in practical terms it makes very little difference if any.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I am looking for a good tutorial on upgrading to CM9 from Basic ROM or does anyone know where I might get the upgrade done?
I am looking for improved functionality over time more so than experimenting with upgrades

Upate of Christian Troy's CM9 uploaded today... 20129610
http://www.androidfilehost.com/main/All ... 120610.zip

or use Update Me app on CM9 devices :D

:!: Extreme now needs 907c/MOMO11/S9000 compatibility zip :!:

* !!! WARNING !!! You need to download a new compatibility zip, 907c/MOMO11/S9000 users now requires one too !!! WARNING !!!
* now rom is based on the community developed 3.0.31 kernel (every tablet but A7HD that now has a "legacy" support)
* changed some "cosmetic" things like a wrong buttons layout when sysbar volume control was disabled; prevent camera app from going to fullscreen when combined bar auto-hide is enabled; add menu options to enable (default) or disable gsensor orientation when HDMI cable is plugged in; fixed (thanks turl) screen off animation
* in "Misc" section of Update Me now you'll find an "Ad-Hoc enabler" zip. Flash it if you wanna connect to adhoc network but note that you'll lose WiFi Direct capabilities, WiFi AP should work anyway
* updated: cm9 sources

For any Extreme users who previously didn't need the compatibility zips:

Use this order:
1) Install cm9_nightly_20120610.zip
2) Install 907c_compatibility_1.1.0.zip
3) Install gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip

Optional: You might need to install stock camera modules, this is available from Update Me once you have installed the ROM. From what I can see all Extreme users need to do this.

So I updated to 'cm9_nightly_20120607' and added all my apps back and it all seems to be working sweet as. I do have to fess up that i straight upgraded using cwm without clearing the caches first even though advised to - my bad but i thought i'd give it a go and if it didn't work then i'd go back and do it properly. Also I never ran the gapps zip file as everything I needed was still in/on my tablet. I'm sure that if I do need it then i'll find out pretty soon :)

My findings are that:

Iplayer runs faultless even through pauses it never loses lip sync or never stutters.

Youtube same as above.

Browser is quick and responsive.

Camera works fine and seems to present a clearer picture - not sure if that's my old eyes though!!

Google Earth is faultless with little if no lag.

So all in all a very nice and stable update, as always if anyone needs any info off my tablet or would like me to try anything out for them then please let me know what it is and i'll do my best to help out.

----- just seen that the tablet can update the rom to 2012.6.10 but will hold fire until i see if there are any benefits.
