ICS video player a.r. controls not working from standby

ICS video player a.r. controls not working from standby

I've been using my Excel from fully 'off' but today using from 'standby' I found the ICS video player aspect ratio controls don't work, when switched on from standby, only from fully off. Is this an ICS, Android, Scroll or Excel problem.
