ipad 2 screen protector from amazon (£8 for 6 - terrapin ones),will post link when I get chance although a quick search will bring them up,perfect fit,has a hole in it for the ipad home button but its off screen on the black surround - no trimming required
Learnt from many past mistakes that the cheap, cheap screen protectors are crap - terrapin are still pretty cheap but are very very good quality - my sensation lasts 6-8 weeks with a terrapin one on & thats in a dusty/cementy builders van - I tried a real cheap one & its was rendered pretty much unuseable inside 48 hours)
& by far the best way to get no bubbles (& this is no joke) - for a start make sure youre in the kitchen or bathroom (a lot less chance of dust or hairs) - even run the shower/or hot taps for 5 minutes to get a little stema in the air.
get a large bowl /baking tray - fill it with boiling water from the kettle, leave it 5 minutes then put the screen protector in- make sure its fully covered ,leave it another 5 minutes - it will go very floppy/supple
now fit it (it doesnt matter if there is still a bit of water once you peel the first protective layer off - a tiny bit is ok ,dripping wet is not - its easier to push water bubbles out from under it than air,to remove the water bubbles lay a glasses cleaning cloth (lint free) over the screen & push over it firmly with a credit/bank card - youll get the majority out with the external piece of protective layer on,the rest will come out easily once you do the same process with the outside protective layer removed - you cannot tell there is a screen protector on mine at all apart from the small hole which is missing on the protector itself
as I said damp is fine, dripping is not !!
I got used to this process (& I was worried the first time) as its the only way to get a screen protector on my sensation xe which has a concave screen which curves upwards on the outsides, without using this hot/boiling water method its impossible to get the edges to stick down - after doingit successfull on my pride & joy £400 phone ,I now use the same method for everything

this may seem extreme to some, but a bubble in the middle of the screen would pretty much kill me to look at,especially day in day out - I now have it down to a fine art - the only prob is the constant hassle of friends now asking me to do theirs once theyve seen mine ;-)

Hi,

Bought protector from Ebay, item no. 170856499108. Fits perfect no holes. I think it cost £3.25 with quick delivery.

The best method I have found is to fit the screen protector using a credit card to smooth out bubbles while you fit it.

If you have bubbles on the screen and they annoy you get another screen protector and watch some youtube videos on fitting before attempting it again.

Do not remove your current screen protector until the new one arrives.
This is to limit dust which can be a nightmare.

Good luck.

thanks sygin i will try that as the protectors are only 99p

I would like to update you on the screen protector mention above and in the link.

It is absolutly the perfect fit, yes it is a whole £3.25 inc P+P for one but it looks so much better than the Ipad alternatives. It uses the '3-layer' approach so you get some protection when smoothing out air bubbles before commiting to the final position but like all of these dust and finger prints can play a major part in it looking good or not so good :)
