I will buy a Samsung/ASUS or any well known manufacturers tablet next time, not an unknown throwing out new tablets every few weeks with little to no support. and 3. Just how good this forum wouild have been if I'd known how to do things.

Don't know if this will help you or not but there have ben quite a few posts about poor/intermittent contact of both USB and HDMI ports accross the Scroll tablet range. I note that some members have had success by trimming back the plastic around the offending port which in some cases has resolved the poor connection by then allowing the lead to insert fully.

I trimmed the plastic from the cables rather than the plastic from the tablet itself, thought about trimming the ports but the tab is £180 & the cables are a few quid so common sense prevailed ;-)

MrLazy,

You don't actually need USB working to get CM9 or similar onto the Extreme.

I did mine a coule of days ago. I didn't fancy replacing my PC USB drivers with the suggested special ones, as the names of my existing driver files were different (maybe for my Via chipset?) so I didn't like the look of the "usbdrv.sys" file. Anyway, to get CWM onto my Extreme I used the method described by "geekinthesticks" on Page 8 of the thread "How to get CWM on your Extreme". This does not need any USB - you can just put the needed files on the MicroSD using your PC and then do the copying and chmod things described. I think I had to copy from /mnt/extsd instead of /mnt/sdcard but apart from that it worked as described. Once you have CWM loaded, the rest of the steps were pretty straightforward. With the CM9 ROM the Extreme's performance is VASTLY better than as supplied.

Good luck!
Simon.

I've been patiently waiting for my replacement from Ebuyer which came in today. There was clearly something wrong with the old one as this one is much smoother (apart from the charging port breaking which was the original reason for refusal). Only regret - have you *seen* the Nexus 7? Nice...

think were all waiting with baited breath on the nexus 7 mate (i most certainly am),was never happy with the screen size on my old 7inch tab,but with a 1280x800 res & the processor/gpu specs it is looking an absolute bargain
I would not be surprised if this is near enough being sold at a loss (or very little profit) just to put a thorn in apples side

(its asus manafactured so will no doubt be excellent build quality although the lack of expandable storage is a massive mistake)
