Help With Half Bricked Scroll Excel 54585, A.40, ICS 4.0.3

Hi guys,

I installed busybox yesterday in order to be able to use android commander to update the youtube app on my scroll excel. Unfortunately, once the installation was complete my scroll excel rebooted itself and erased all of my data and now I have the following problem:

• It turns on and boots up just fine, but once it has loaded when I navigate to Systems Settings/Storage it does not detect my internal storage where all of the system and preinstalled Apps are. Instead it only shows it as Total Space 0.00B and Apps as 31.32MB, which when I click on nothing happens.
• It detects my second internal storage as Total Space 5.64GB, Apps 48.00KB, Misc 28.00KB & Available 5.64GB. However, when I click on the Apps option it takes me to the Apps setting where it displays that there are No apps ON SD CARD.
• I can log into the Google Play Store, but when I try downloading an App it just sticks on downloading.
• When I try to install an App from the file manager it says it can't cause there is no free space.

I have tried doing factory reset from the pin, Menu option (System Settings/Buckup & reset/Factory data reset) and from the steps detailed on the storage options site (http://www.storageoptions.com/support/faq/scroll#faq1-48). But it doesn't seem to do anything, (it doesn't even erase the data from my external 16GB SD CARD). Everything else works fine (wifi, email, youtube, playing video files and music from my 16GB external card).

hello what version of busy box did you use and where from? you may want to reverse the installation for an old version

I used BusyBox Pro 7.9.2 which I was given by a friend. How do I reverse the installation?

Search for busybox on the play store, install it, you can then choose which version of busybox to install from there

But how do I download it? cause when I try from the play store (which only gives me Busybox version 8.6 stephen (stericson)) it just stays stuck on downloading.

Okay, so i've searched all over for a solution and tried everything to download Busybox from the play store but my scroll simply won't let me .
@suggsy89 can I just flash it to one of your ICS Roms or this one here http://scrolltabletforum.co.uk/site/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=2406 or should I try sending it back to Storage Options?

Do you know how to dump the firmware? Do that first... I can take a look at it tonight for you? If not you can try to flash a new ROM

Unfortunately am a newbie so I have no idea how to dump the firmware but if you can tell me how I'll give it a go. Also, I think I've managed to locate a copy of busy box 1.18.3 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=977051 and ver 1.17.2 from http://androidforums.com/milestone-all-things-root/138224-release-busybox-1-17-1-a.html. Can I use either for a reverse installation and if so how?

Use android commander to find where busybox is installed and replace it.. it will either work or won't lol it's been a while since I've tinkered with android..

Okay, i'll give it a go. Does it matter which one I use? and from what I've seen after unzipping the file's its not supposed to be an apk file right?
