Hi we recently returned an Elite and the replacement version has Firmware 1.2 on it.
Anyone know this differs from 1.1?

BobC wrote:Having had a 1.1 and now a 1.2 (arrived today and just charged up) noticeable differences seem to be :
1) 1.1 supported ad-hoc wireless networks, 1.2 doesn't
2) Different animation for battery charging
3) Google Play seems to be pre-installed.
These are just first impressions - will check and report further.
I can't see a reference to 1.2 Firmware (nor was 1.1 openly displayed on 1.1) though perhaps someone is mis-reading Baseband 1.2 as Firmware 1.2. I'm calling this 1.2 'cos it's newer than 1.1. For reference the Build number is actually :
crane_evb_v13-eng 4.0.3 IML74K 20120620

In addition to the above I believe that Wi-Fi is "better-behaved" in that it properly roams between my main Wi-Fi node and the repeater (which uses the same SSID but obviously a different MAC address). Earlier versions would stick with the previous hot-spot until it lost the signal rather than re-associating when a much stronger hot-spot with the same SSID became available.
A problem I had with Titanium Backup which stopped it treating the External SD card as writeable has also gone away.
I also note that in previous versions when the tablet should have been asleep the battery monitor would show that it had woken up and stayed awake with the screen off, the latest version shows the tablet waking up briefly and then going back to sleep. The regularity with which it wakes makes me think this is related to the interval for checking email.

The link to the new SO firmware for the Elite is no longer available from the link in this post: viewtopic.php?p=23506#p23506
My Elite has developed a fault with the touch screen and I need to restore to a "supported" firmware before returning it under warranty. I cannot find the backup I made of the original firmware
Thanks for any help...
