There was quite a lot of interest in trying to get flash working on the telechips Essential but as far as I am aware no-one actually managed it. Storage Options simply stated that the hardware could not support it.
Some people found this broswer useful https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... 3dzZXIiXQ.. which hosts the Flash part of videos etc for you and allows you to watch without having flash installed on your tablet. However, you will almsot ceratinly find this service a bit spasmodic as it usually has to keep freezing whilst it rebuffers and allows you to watch another buffered block before repeating the buffering process.
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!

Getting BBC iplayer to work on a telechips Essential is not going to happen as the hardware can't support Flash player and it is unlikely that even if you manage to sort out your os problems you mention in your other thread that you could get Angry Birds to work at all smoothly. Sorry to be so negative, but as I said before, I just hope you didn't pay too much for it.

The current Scroll Excel with ICS is only just over £92.00 on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Storage-Options ... 849&sr=8-4 and it knocks spots of the old Essential.

Seems like your only hope is to find a suitable Rom to flash using Livesuite but compatible Roms are extremely difficult to track down and there is always inherant risk unless you know the Rom source is tested and trusted. Unfortunately, it does seem as if you have bought an expensive brick - the irony is that a brand New telechips Scroll Essential first release sporting Gingerbread 2.3.4 was available brand new for only £65.00 via S.O. until a few months ago.

If you can save again (maybe offer your tablet to another cash converters type shop as spares) then I can Highly recommend the Scroll Excel if you are looking for a budget but good performance 7" tablet.
Of course, the Bee's Knees at the moment with bang for bucks is the Google Nexus 7.

Thank-you I also appreciate your thanks, you don't often get them in life these days.
I will keep my eyes open for an Telechips "Essential" ROM and if I ever find one I will let you know.
