@TC - I put livesuite 1.09 on my win 7 32bit laptop ok - but when I tried the same on my win 7 64bit d/top I get a popup error = ""Install driver fail! The program will exit""

What bit version of windows did you use livesuite 1.09 with?

I was using Win 7 32 bit but install driver error is something that many people experience with Livesuite first use.
Don't worry though because Livesuite contains both the 32 bit drivers and the 64 bit drivers you just have to show your PC where they are:

If you find Windows/Livesuite can’t see your tablet because it can’t find the drivers - go to Device manager and you will probably find a Yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in device drivers.
Right click and choose update drivers –choose own location “On this PC” and navigate to the Livesuite folder and drill-down to the usb drivers folder and choose 32 or 64 bit accordingly.
Select appropriate driver and then update – this should now allow the tablet to be seen by Livesuite. (You should only have to do this the once and should work immediately for later usage.)
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!

I had tried that for the USB drivers, but this error occurs before the tablet is connected. It seems that this info

Version 1.0.5 is 32 bit Windows XP specific
Version 1.0.6 is 32 bit Windows
Version 1.0.7 is 64 bit Windows
Version 1.0.9 is 64 bit Windows

From here might not be correct as the only version (in my case) that I could get "Installed" on my Win 7 64bit PC was 1.05 the rest came up with the errors during/after unpacking. This in my view is not directly related the the USB device drives for the tablet but the Livesuite programme itself and its funniness with win 7 64bit.

EDIT:
I have Livesuite 1.05 opening ok on my d/top - is there much difference between 1.05 & 1.09 that you know of?

Thanks Charlie, I will do some digging before I edit the above as it was posted in good faith and I had every confidence it was correct when I did so.
Livesuite does'n't actually install itself anyway,(you won't find it in your uninstall list) it simply unpacks wherever you put it (i.e desktop folder) and then when you fire it up Windows tries to find compatible drivers to make it work with your PC's USB host controller - it usually fails to do so - and results in you having to force install the appropriate drivers by manually updating from within device manager as described in previous post.

I know Livesuite can be challenging on first install of drivers but I am glad you got sorted in the end. I will update on this when I have made some further investigations. Meanwhile what did you find in device manger when it wouldn't work?

Ok, cheers TC - I had to use 1.05 on my d/top (Win 7 64bit) and then use my own USB Drivers files to install the USB drivers for the Excel tab. -->

I currently have 1.09 Livesuite on laptop (Win 7 32bit) - but as the tablet has not been connected to it yet, I will see if the I can get windows to install the USB drivers normally or through the drivers that are in the 1.09. As far as I can see, it seems to be a 64 vs 32 bit issue with livesuite compatibility.

@Charlie: I did some deeper digging and can confirm this is what the downloads I have hosted in android Novices actually are.

1.05 has 32 bit drivers only and was built 2008 so may poss be Win 7 compatible but was at the time intended for Win XP

1.06 also built 2008 has only win 32 bit drivers

1.07 built 2010 has both 32 and 64 bit drivers.

1.09 also built 2010 offer multilingual unpack options and contains both 32 bit and 64 bit drivers.

I will expand this detail on android novices to help others and thank you for helping me make things better on the site.

If anyone else is having problems then these are the latest Windows/Livesuite USB drivers I have for both 32 bit and 64 bit: https://www.box.com/s/4g5ltrz7ak5yxi3nleih

Yes I understand that but only version 1.05 would extract and open correctly when on a 64bit windows - I have only tried 1.09 on a 32bit windows. Also Just connected the Excel to the laptop for the 1st time and error with Android driver, and when following the instructions:-

(You should only have to do this the once and should work immediately for later usage.)

which do not work unless I point windows to my edited usb drivers for the Excel. This could all be unique with my set-ups, not really sure at the mo' as I have not used Livesuite before and since the last time my Excel was connected to my d/top or laptop was before I replaced both HDD's with SSD's and installed Win 7.

Going to flash via the laptop tonight and see how that goes - I think with Suggy's 4.0.3 rom, I think that would be a good starting point, what do you think on the latter?

Cheers :D

Charlie, I am on unsteady ground here but do you think that if the self extracting files were originally built on a 32 bit machine, this could be why they won't unpack on a 64 bit machine. I have downloaded and unpacked all versions without problem but this is on a win 32 bit PC?

Yes I agree Suggsy'89's 4.03 is a completely safe starting point too.

Not sure TC, - All I know is that there has always been issues with unknown brands of Android tablets and windows drivers and/or other programs having an issue because of window 64 or 32bit compatibility.

I was not surprised that there was an USB driver issue on both machines and I had to use my set of edited drivers to get this working, but I did not think that Livesuite 1.0.9 would be an issue as it seemed ok on the l/top.

Well now for the test to see if it will flash the tab' ok.

So Suggy's 4.0.3 had CWM??? and is it the same "hold menu button with power button" to access?

Thanks
