Postby spanishguy » December 13th, 2012, 7:19 pm

I just plugged it in and changed the tv to the correct input and it apeared on screen but now nothing just the no input signal on the tv. Anyone have any ideas before I contact scroll for a repair/exchange. Pity as this has been great so far.

I know it is a bit obvious but have you tried another lead or a careful wiggle to see if the connection is bad?

no, thats the obvious next step, being in the back of beyond here in spain they are not as easy to come by as in the UK but I will have one shortlyto prove it out. Sods law really, I want it to try and stream uk tv as we are losing all the freeview channels due to the new Astra sat and the tablets the easiest thing t try it with. Then I just have to find a good stream that doesn't have too many ads.

I use this very successfully to watch TV on my tablet and if your HDMI turns out to be OK it should solve your problem.
CathupTV

I use this to get rid of the adverts within the Catchup TV app Adaway Of course you are still forced to watch the streamed ones though

You will need the last made Flash Player.app (Adobe have stopped supporting android so this is their last version)
Adobe_Flash_Player_11.1.115.17.apk

The only thing is your region you may need a UK based proxy IP to allow Catchup TV to work outside of the UK.
I don't know this for sure, but I suspect so, perhaps you can try it and let me know.

TV Catchup dosen't work in Spain but http://www.filmon.com/, might. In September there was a Filmon app that I used with no problems, but it's gone missing at sea.

Thanks for all the info guys. I changed the lead and sure enough that was the problem. I have tried filmon and it does solve some of the problems but I wouldn't want to watch it for too long as the clutter on the free version is annoying. Maybe I wil have to go with one of the internet tv boxes that are available here but the cost of the box is excessiveat over 500€ although the monthly cost is lower than sky so I suppose its swings and roundabouts.

If by clutter you mean intrusive adds and popups then did you try the Adaway link I posted above it keeps all my free apps clean apart from streamed ads which you just have to watch anyway.
