Hello gas and welcome to the forum.
You are I believe the first Evoke owner on here so perhaps you would like to do a review on it.
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!

Welcome gas,

I am thinking of getting an Evoke, can you convince me? - My other options are a Nexus 7 (16gb) or a Sumvision Cyclone 10.1" tablet (the latter has all most the same spec's as the evoke)

Hi Charlie,
Sorry for the late reply I only just figured to subscribe for alerts on topics :)

I did a short review of the device here http://scrolltabletforum.co.uk/site/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=3251

In all Id say it does what it says on the tin pretty well. Screen is good, bright, im not really having any major issues.

Couple of things I noted are that USB OTG doesnt seem to work through a hub, also serial dongles not working yet like they do with my Scroll Pocket. I like fiddling with things like this so for me its kinda fun to see how to solve things, but just so you know, im not sure how you will use the tablet.

All else works well, tomtom, bad piggies, netflix, iplayer, hdmi out to a tv, some 3d games, etc etc, all run smoothly. the gallery is working smoothly even loaded with seventeen hundred 14MP images from my dslr (5mb jpg's) build quality is pretty good, its quite slim in your hand, looks the part.

Only other gripe is they should have made the power cord longer, its only 1.3 metres or so, bit annoying.

Thanks Gas, a good read but too late as I got a 10.1 Sumvision Cyclone yesterday.

Hi Gas,

I got one for my son for christmas, great little tablet with the exception that mine/ his keeps locking up, there doesnt seem to be any pattern to why aswell, its not as though it locks up mid game etc, sometimes just pressing the power button on the screen is totally unresponsive which leaves no option but to press the reset button, which wouldnt be so bad if I had something on me I could use but I dont tend to carry pins etc around with me....

Other than that and a couple of other little niggles its a nice unit

Hi Bradmax57,

I've had it happen a couple time also, lock up, had to take a pin to the reset. I didnt think much more of it since I have been installing all sorts of stuff, and poking around with it, filling up the memory and opening too many applications at a time. Now I use the advanced task killer utility to kill everything im not using more regularly, it seems ok.

New Evoke user here. \o/
Nice piece of kit.

But I'm still struggling to adb to the device. Any tips on which driver to use? The PdaNet one doesn't see my device. :(
