I've now managed to get ADB to reboot the tablet (ADB REBOOT BOOTLOADER), but running the next command (after the reboot while it's on the "Scroll by Storage Options screen") just hangs saying "Waiting for Device". The command being attempted is:
fastboot-windows.exe flash recovery recovery-clockwork-scroll.img

At this stage the tablet is not listed in Device Manager (although it is when I issue the reboot command).

Is there anything else that I can try using ADB to restore the tablet??

At that stage you need new drivers for the next part to run, as when in that mode the tablet usb id has changed. And make sure the usb id is there for the bootloader part in the usb .inf file for your tab'

By new drivers so you mean a different set of dll's, or simply a change to the .inf file? The entry that I have currently is:

[Google.NTx86]
; Scroll
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_DEED&MI_01

How would I find out what this needs to be replaced with?

Just edit the .inf (no new dll's needed) and make sure the usb id is there for singleAdbInterface and SingleBootLoaderInterface

See here for info --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=737728 (this is not a "how to" for the above, but might help)

UPDATE

For win 32-bit make sure you have this in the .inf

Code: Select all
[Google.NTx86]
; Scroll
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_DEED
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_DEED&MI_01
%SingleBootLoaderInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_D00D
;

See the change from PID_DEED to PID_D00D when in fastboot mode (and the 00 part are numbers)

Thanks - following your advice I managed to flash recovery-clockwork-scroll.img to the tablet. I can now access the Recovery menu, although the keys don't work as I expected - e.g. the Home key wakes up the Android, the Vol+ key scrolls up and the Vol- key selects (??)

Anyway I renamed the zip file from your first post (for the 51624) to update.zip and tried to flash it. It failed while verifying the update file: "E: failed to verify whole-file signature", "E: signature verification failed", "Installation aborted".

I also tried flashing the update.zip previously uploaded by warpedflash, but got the same error.

Is there anything else that I can try flashing??
