Nice on Suggsy, Look forward to it - can you spoof it as something other than the Nexus 7 - the Samsung i9100 seems to provide a good range of stable and compatible apps.

Jellybean Rom is lagging yes, i dont know why i think it might be the Kernel... was planning on looking at it tonight but didn't get time as i was playing on Battlefield 3 haha. Ive got my works do tomorrow, hopefully ill have enough time to look at it tomorrow night. going to do a little experiment, compare the ICS kernel and the Jellybean one, planning to use the ICS kernel though, will let you know soon.

Off topic.
Come to think of it. I think it's time I had a blast on BF3:-) See what it's like on Windows8

hey guys. sorry i havent been on for a while so just trying to catch up.

i am thinking of getting one of these for the kids http://www.ebuyer.com/407319-sumvision- ... pc-cycvoy7 so will either be selling the scroll or keeping it for tseting and messing.

either way i would want the OS to be as stable as possible so was hoping we had an update as the 4.1.1 i currently have on it has its issues such as being very slow and the boot time to being usable is also very long.

ps what do you think of the tablet i have linked to?

thanks guys

This Sumvision looks like a lot of bang for your buck but things are changing so fast that by the time you get it something better will be out there, meantime looks like a snip at the price. Charlie bought a 10" Sumvision but I believe he sent it back, he hasn't been on lately so don't know more than that.

I am awaiting delivery of an A13 based 7" capacitive tablet with just 4G ram direct from China. It only weighs 280 Grams (allegedly) and will be an ideal kindle substitute for my wife (as she has rheumatoidand arthritis in her hands) to read books on at just £39.99 all in I couldn't resist.

Regarding a completely stable JB on the Excel I am still looking too. I feel confident that although it may take a few more months we will be seeing manufacturers offering updates. The one's to watch are Novo who offer a fair support on firmware updates and Yarvik. My money is on Yarvik bringing out a JB firmware update for their Tab264 which I am fairly confident will go straight on the original Excel with the A10 |CPU. I am currently running Yarviks 4.0.4 rom on my original Excel and I am very happy to keep with this until a good JB 4.2 is available for it.

i went ahead and bought the sumvision and dont regret it at all, excellent for the money. excellent for a fair bit more also. i had to update it to the latest firmware which was easy enough as it had a bug that kept the volume control slider onscreen when pressed requiring a reset but the fix sorted it.

anyway, back to the excel. i sold it to my mom which is good as i still get to mess with it if there is a benefit such as the stable JB update we are hoping for on here. for now though, one problem.
i factory reset it to give it to her. unfortunately the onscreen and physical home button dont do anything. i have installed apex launcher so i though i just needed to re-do the action that pressing the home button would achieve but still no better. i have read a few similar posts re cm9 based roms that it is the version of gapps causing it. so i downloaded the gapps in the sig but it wouldnt install, something about a bad file.
where would i get the correct version of gapps for this, 4.1.1 jro03l, rom?

As you say there does not yet appear to be a solid JB for the Excel anywhere. I can recommend the Yarvick 4.0.4 rom for your Mum's Excel which I have found rock solid so far and it should sort your buttons out in the process. Just flash with Livesuite and never look back. http://bit.ly/11EtzYG
